Content Management

I specialize in custom content management systems that allow clients to update certain areas of their own sites -- for example, home page content or news items -- and fully format the content using a rich text editor. This saves enormously in maintenance costs and gives you the freedom you are looking for.

Web Development Services Include:

• Graphical Design:  
  Each design is unique and comes out of a mix involving the client's wishes, the character of the logo, the nature of the business, and a variety of other factors.
  A good graphical design requires an eye for proportion and balance, an effective use of color, a sensitivity to the "movement" of the design, and an awareness of the prominent elements on a page. Usability is also very important on the web -- navigation elements should be readily accessible (not requiring scrolling, for instance) and easy to understand, but not draw the visitor's eye away from the important content.
• Ecommerce:  
  DuBose Design can design a custom storefront and checkout mechanism, including a catalog, a shopping cart, an administrative panel, and secure credit card transactions using an ASP.NET interface to Authorize.net, one of the most popular payment gateways.
• Dynamic Data:  
  I can set up a database-driven website using MySQL, Access, or XML as a data store, or SQL Server if you can afford the more costly hosting plan.
• Third-Party Add-ons:  
  I can integrate third-party applications such as forums, chat services, RSS feeds, embedded media, and many others into your website.

• ASP.NET:  
  I have considerable expertise in Microsoft's .NET framework. I've been doing .NET websites since 2002. If you have a Windows-hosted website that needs dynamic content, or an existing ASP or ASP.NET website that's experiencing problems, I can help.
• Database Design:  
  I've worked extensively since 2004 with SQL Server (2000/2005) and SQL Server Reporting Service. I can work with all aspects of relational database technology: tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, user-defined functions, security, encryption/decryption, etc.
• Windows Applications:  
  I'm skilled with Microsoft's CLICK ONCE technology, which allows you to download and install a Windows application from a web site, and checks the web site for updates each time the program runs -- no need to deal with elaborate installation CDs or DVDs.
